TRANSPORT

It is easy to island hop with small planes, though inter-island ferries do run regularly. Buses and taxis abound on the main islands, and rental cars are easy to find. For the more adventurous, bikes and horses can also be hired. But foot tours are the best way to enjoy the sights and meet the locals.

Roads
Don't expect highways, let alone paved roads. Only 184 km of the 670 km of road are paved. Driving is interesting, with cars competing at times with horse-drawn carts, pedestrians, pigs and other wildlife.
